Pepsi Zero Sugar is PepsiCo's sugar-free cola line, announced in March 1993 and launched as Pepsi Max in Great Britain and Italy, then across Europe and Australia; it stayed out of the United States until the Food and Drug Administration approved acesulfame potassium, one of its two sweeteners alongside aspartame.[^wikipzs] It reached the American market in 2007 as Diet Pepsi Max, lost the "Diet" in 2009 and was later renamed Pepsi Zero Sugar, a name PepsiCo extended to many other countries with the 2023 packaging redesign.[^wikipzs] The line is still sold as Pepsi Max in Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland, Tanzania and Australia, and as Pepsi Black in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Malaysia and Singapore.[^wikipzs]
