## About <!--about-->
Pepsi Jazz was a line of zero-calorie dessert-flavoured colas that PepsiCo introduced in the United States in the summer of 2006 as a specifically named variant of Diet Pepsi, launching with Black Cherry and French Vanilla and Strawberries and Cream and adding Caramel Cream in 2007.[^wikijazz] The company weighed the names "Splurge" and "Indulge" before settling on Jazz and advertised the line under the tagline "Jazz, the new sound of cola", a campaign an ethnomusicologist has read as aimed at a young, specifically African American audience.[^wikijazz] Trade press covering the October 2006 print campaign called the drink Diet Pepsi Jazz.[^mediapost] After poor sales PepsiCo shut the Pepsi Jazz website in May 2008, and the line had ended by 2009 as Pepsi Max took its place as the company's zero-calorie flanker.[^wikijazz]
