## About <!--about-->
Chimay Bleue is the dark, 9 % vol Trappist ale of Scourmont Abbey and the strongest of the brewery's year-round beers. Father Théodore began trials with a new yeast in 1948; the beer was first sold in 1954 as Spéciale Noël, a Christmas beer only, and from 1956 it became the "blue capsule" available all year.[^chimay-blue] The brewery lists it in 33 cl, 75 cl, 1,5 L, 3 L and 6 L bottles and on tap; the 75 cl bottle carries the name Grande Réserve, and a limited collector's edition of that bottle is issued every two years.[^chimay-blue] Wikipedia describes it as the "classic" Chimay ale, a copper-brown beer with a light creamy head and a fruity, peppery character.[^wikipedia-chimay]
