Sony Music Labels Inc. (株式会社ソニー・ミュージックレーベルズ, SML) is a Tokyo record company wholly owned by Sony Music Entertainment (Japan).[^sme-sml][^ja-wiki-sml] It was founded on 1 October 2001 as Sony Music Records Inc.; on 1 April 2014 it absorbed seven label companies of the group, among them Sony Music Japan International, Epic Records Japan and Ki/oon Music, and changed its name to Sony Music Labels.[^ja-wiki-sml][^sme-sml] It absorbed Sony Music Direct in April 2022.[^ja-wiki-sml] Its label groups include Sony Music Records, Epic Records Japan, Ki/oon Music, Ariola Japan, SACRA MUSIC and Sony Music Japan International, and catalogue numbers carry a two-letter sales code per group, such as SI for Sony Music Japan International.[^discogs-sml][^ja-wiki-sml] It manufactured the 2014 Japanese paper-sleeve CD of Bob Dylan's Blood on the Tracks, SICP-30492.[^discogs]
