Hong Kong's largest publishing group, formed in 1988 and headquartered in North Point.[^sup-intro][^wp-sup] Its members include Joint Publishing, Chung Hwa Book Company and Commercial Press in Hong Kong, the Wan Li and Sun Ya imprints, and C & C Joint Printing.[^sup-intro] Since 2021 it has been a member of the Bauhinia Culture Group, which lists it among its directly held companies.[^sup-history][^grandunity]
Its roots go back to the Hong Kong branches of the Commercial Press (1914) and Chung Hwa Book Company (1927) and to Joint Publishing, formed in Hong Kong in 1948.[^sup-history] A joint management office for the three was set up in 1980 and reorganised in September 1988 as Sino United Publishing, which wholly owns them.[^sup-history] In 2015 Next Magazine reported that the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong controlled the group.[^wp-sup]
