The 012000 entry was written in the wrong form (a US UPC prefix is 0012000) and, more importantly, was derived from the USDA brand owner of one barcode, which the prefix rule forbids: USDA names Pepsico Inc. as brand owner of other barcodes in the same range (Mug Root Beer, 012000009358, fdc_id 1458268), so the derivation was not even consistent. I looked for a source naming the GS1 licensee: Verified by GS1 answers the server 403, gepir.gs1.org and grp.gs1.org return the JavaScript Verified by GS1 shell or a 404, and GLEIF has no LEI record for the name; the licensee of prefix 0012000 is recorded in About as an open research gap. I also settled what this name is: PepsiCo's own Form 10-K for fiscal 2002 describes Pepsi-Cola North America (PCNA) as one of its divisions, and the fiscal 2003 10-K reports the same business as PepsiCo Beverages North America; the name is in neither the 28 December 2002 nor the 27 December 2025 Exhibit 21 subsidiary list, so no legal entity of this exact name is confirmed. Added a sourced parent_org relation to company/pepsico with that caveat in its note, a PCNA search alias, a sharper disambiguation, and four References rows: pep2002, pep2002sub, pep2003 and usdamug. The About lede is rewritten (83 words) and the history paragraph now carries the corporate and prefix uncertainty. No fact was dropped except the unsupported prefix claim.
