Monster Beverage Corporation is an American beverage company whose energy drinks include Monster Energy, Relentless, Reign and Burn.[^wiki-mnst] Its operating companies, among them Monster Energy Company, are listed as its subsidiaries in its annual report filings.[^sec-ex21]

The business began in 1935 as Hansen's, when Hubert Hansen and his sons sold juice in Southern California. After a 1988 bankruptcy it was bought by California CoPackers Corporation and renamed Hansen Natural Company, went public in 1990, launched its first energy drink in 1997 and moved to Corona, California, in 1998. Shareholders renamed it Monster Beverage Corporation on 5 January 2012, when energy drinks had become its largest source of revenue. The Coca-Cola Company bought a 16.7 % stake in 2015.[^wiki-mnst]
