Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, Inc. is the American company that licenses, remasters and distributes the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab label's audiophile reissues; releases credit it as the party they are manufactured for and as distributor.[^discogs] The label was founded in 1977, shut down in November 1999 after the bankruptcy of M. S. Distributing, and its assets were acquired in 2001 by Jim Davis of Music Direct.[^wiki-mofi] It runs its own mastering studio in California, and its vinyl is pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing, a sister company in Oxnard, California.[^mofi-story]

In 2022 staff confirmed that DSD files made from the analog master tapes had been used in cutting many of its vinyl masters, including UltraDisc One-Step releases; a class action fraud lawsuit followed in August 2022.[^wiki-mofi] The prefix 0821797 is inferred from the barcodes of its Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks editions (UltraDisc One-Step 821797200622, hybrid SACD 821797209861 and LP 821797138116), all issued by the label.[^discogs]
