## About <!--about-->
MCA Records, Inc. was the record company of the entertainment group MCA Inc.; Discogs records it as incorporated in California on 3 July 1970 (company number 602267), parent of the US Decca, Kapp and Uni labels from April 1971, and dissolved on 21 April 2000 by merger into UMG Recordings, Inc.[^discogs-mcainc] The MCA Records label itself was established in 1972 and folded into Geffen Records in 2003.[^wp-mca] The pack of MCA Classics' 1989 double decker CDs names it at 70 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, California, as the company the discs were manufactured for.[^caa-a]

In 1979 MCA bought ABC Records with its subsidiaries, among them Westminster; in 1989 MCA Inc. formed the holding MCA Music Entertainment Group, which was renamed Universal Music Group in 1996.[^wp-mca] Its classical catalogue is now managed by Deutsche Grammophon.[^wp-mca]
