CITIC Pacific Limited is the Hong Kong investment arm of CITIC Limited, which owns it in full, and manages the group's property, consumer products, healthcare and infrastructure businesses.[^cp-about] Among the consumer holdings is Dah Chong Hong Holdings Limited, the motor and consumer products distributor it took private in 2019 and whose Sims food business supplies Hong Kong retailers and restaurants.[^cp-about][^dch-about] The company also built CITIC Pacific Special Steel and the Sino Iron magnetite project in Western Australia, and describes itself as CITIC's capital investment platform.[^cp-about]

The business began in 1987, when China International Trust and Investment Corporation, now CITIC Group, formed CITIC Hong Kong (Holdings) Limited.[^cp-about] In the early 1990s CITIC Hong Kong acquired the listed Tylfull Company Limited, injected its assets into it and renamed it CITIC Pacific Limited, the first red chip company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.[^cp-about] In September 2014 CITIC Group injected the majority of its assets into that listed company, which was renamed CITIC Limited, and CITIC Pacific continued as its wholly owned subsidiary.[^cp-about][^wikipedia-citic-ltd]
