CITIC Limited is the Hong Kong-listed holding company, stock code 267, through which the state-owned CITIC Group runs most of its businesses: financial services, resources and energy, manufacturing, engineering contracting and real estate.[^wikipedia-citic-ltd] CITIC Group holds 53 per cent of its shares, and it is a constituent of the Hang Seng Index.[^cp-about] Its wholly owned subsidiary CITIC Pacific Limited holds the group's Hong Kong property, consumer, healthcare and infrastructure interests, including the DCH distribution group and its Sims food business.[^cp-about][^dch-about]

The company listed in the early 1990s as CITIC Pacific Limited, the first red chip on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and took the name CITIC Limited in September 2014, when CITIC Group injected the majority of its assets into it; the older businesses carried on under a subsidiary that kept the CITIC Pacific name.[^wikipedia-citic-ltd][^cp-about] In January 2015 Chia Tai Bright Investment, a joint venture of Itochu and Charoen Pokphand, bought 10 per cent of the company from CITIC Group for HK$34.4 billion and subscribed convertible preferred shares for a further HK$45.9 billion.[^wikipedia-citic-ltd] In 2023 China Huarong Asset Management contracted to buy 5.01 per cent from CITIC Group's subsidiary CITIC Polaris for HK$13.6 billion.[^wikipedia-citic-group]
