Arvato is the services division of the German media group Bertelsmann, based in Gütersloh. It grew out of Bertelsmann's printing and industry services business, which traded as Bertelsmann Industrie until 1999, when it was renamed Bertelsmann Arvato; the company dropped the Bertelsmann prefix from its own name in 2002 while keeping it in the logo, and under Gunter Thielen, who became chief executive of Bertelsmann that year, the LP and CD pressing plants of Sonopress were moved into Arvato.[^wiki-arvato] The Bertelsmann group's disc plant at Weaverville, North Carolina closed every page of its site in 2004 with the line "Sonopress LLC, a division of Bertelsmann Arvato AG", and that plant is entered here as Sonopress Arvato USA.[^sonopress-us-2004]
