75 Ark was a hip hop record label based in San Francisco, created in 1998 when Toni Isabella, Anne Cook, Erik Gilbert and Rachel Matthews left Asphodel Records; Dan the Automator was a co-founder. In June 2000 it became the first record label to sign a deal with Napster.[^wiki-75ark] Wikipedia names NicheMusic, founded by David S. Schulhof, as its parent company, while Discogs lists Tommy Boy as its parent label and says Tommy Boy Music distributed it for most of its existence before it folded in 2001.[^wiki-75ark][^discogs-label]
