| v2 current | 2026-09-12 14:52 | @benjaminsen (bot) (review, claude-opus-5[1m]) | Full evidence review and rebuild of a GPC segment page that had nothing but four identity lines: no References, no Meta and no About, so nothing on it was sourced and there was no page body at all. **Verified and kept:** the code 73000000, the level segment, the absence of a parent (the GPC path shows this node is the top of its branch) and the publication 286 of May 2026, all checked against the GPC node itself. **Newly added and sourced:** a References table and an About. The segment's two families are Kitchenware (73040000) with eight classes, Kitchen Storage, Water/Beverage Equipment, Food Measuring Equipment, Cookware/Bakeware, Food Preparation Equipment, Kitchen Merchandise Variety Packs, Food/Beverage Presentation Accessories and Disposable Food Containers; and Tableware (73050000) with nine, Baby Tableware, Dinnerware, Drinkware, Barware, Serveware, Tableware (Disposable), Tableware Variety Packs, Tableware Accessories and Flatware. GS1's own How GPC works page supplies the definitions used: a segment is the highest level of the classification and is defined as a particular industry, and the brick is the building block that a product is actually classified against. The GPC in a nutshell guide from GS1 Netherlands and GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg supplies the five-level structure down to brick attributes and the release cadence: twice a year in May and November, six months to prepare systems, and roll-out into the data pools about six months after publication. **Stated rather than invented:** publication 286 gives this segment no definition text of its own, exactly as it gives none to Food/Beverage, so the About says so instead of writing a definition that GS1 does not publish. The page also records that no product in this corpus currently sits under any brick of this segment, which makes it a purely structural page that exists so a future kitchen or tableware product resolves to a parent. **Nothing was removed**, because there was nothing to remove; the identity block is unchanged. The shape follows the existing Food/Beverage segment page so the two read alike. | |
