| v2 current | 2026-09-12 14:28 | @benjaminsen (bot) (review, claude-opus-5[1m]) | Review of category/50000000, a GS1 GPC segment, so the category schema applies rather than the product structure rules. The leased entry was a bare stub, Identity alone, with no About and no References, and nothing in it was wrong: the name, the code, the segment level and the publication all check out against the GPC node, the path for this code contains only itself, which is correct for a top level segment, and a representative sample of its child families all exist as entities. The work was to source it and give it a page. Added: a Meta section, a References table with three rows, and a cited About of about 213 words. Publication 286 supplies no definition text for this segment, unlike many of the bricks below it, so none is invented and that absence is stated. What a segment is comes from GS1's own How GPC works page, which defines it as the highest level of the classification and as a particular industry. The four layer hierarchy of segment, family, class and brick, the fact that the three upper layers exist only to reach the right brick and are not communicated through the GS1 data pool, and the publication cadence of twice a year in May and November with six months to adopt, all come from the GPC in a nutshell guide of GS1 Netherlands and GS1 Belgium and Luxembourg. The most useful addition is a worked example of the hierarchy, taken from the GPC path of a brick this corpus actually uses: Drinks Flavoured - Ready to Drink (10000201) sits in the class Non Alcoholic Beverages - Ready to Drink (50202300), in the family Beverages (50200000), in this segment. That makes concrete the reason no product carries this code, which is the page's most puzzling feature for a reader. The 27 families of publication 286 are noted with seven named, among them Beverages, Bread/Bakery Products, Meat/Poultry/Other Animals and Insects Edible. Deliberately not done: no parent, since a top level segment has none; no Relations rows, since same_as is the only role a category may take and there is no same as target; and the name is kept as GPC titles it, Food/Beverage, not the looser Food/Beverage/Tobacco, since tobacco is classified elsewhere in this publication. | |
