A liferaft can be designed to accommodate one person or many and may be equipped with boarding ladders, a canopy and locator lights. A lifebuoy is usually ring-shaped or horseshoe-shaped and has a connecting line allowing the casualty to be pulled to the rescuer. A flotation cushion, upon which a body can float, is simply a cushion made of flotation foam covered in a waterproof material and has straps to enable rescue.
