It was first brewed in Żywiec in the late 1970s as Tatra Żywiec Lager, was launched in Britain as Tatra Pils Strong Lager at the Great Western Beer Festival in 1980, and has carried a highlander on its label since 2001.[^wiki-tatra] Its main product is the pale lager Tatra Jasne Pełne.[^maker]
