Swan is a British brand of smoking accessories: matches, rolling papers and filter tips.[^hos-history] It began in 1883 with Swan wax matches, Swan Vestas followed in 1906, and the name was extended to lighter fluid and gas in 1984 and to cigarette papers in 1985.[^hos-history] The owner, Bryant & May, became Swedish Match UK in 1997 and was sold to Republic Technologies International in December 2008.[^hos-history] Republic Technologies (UK) Limited now distributes Swan in the UK alongside OCB and Zig-Zag.[^rt-about]
