Levissima is an Italian natural mineral water brand, drawn from springs at Cepina in the municipality of Valdisotto, province of Sondrio, and bottled there since 1936, when the hotelier Gasparre Piccagnoni obtained the concession to bottle the spring.[^wiki-it] The name comes from the Latin levis, "light": the Bishop of Como, Alessandro Macchi, called the village water "levissima" after drinking it.[^wiki-it] The brand joined the Sanpellegrino group in 1993 and so belongs to Nestlé.[^wiki-it] Its low-mineral water is sold still and sparkling; the label prints "Dalle Alpi Italiane" under the wordmark.[^pack]

Since 2007 the brand has worked with the glaciology department of the University of Milan on monitoring Italian glaciers, and it ran the "Levissima Spedizione Ghiacciai" survey from 2016 to 2018.[^wiki-it]
