About Time Warner
Time Warner Inc. was an American mass-media and entertainment conglomerate based in New York, formed on 10 January 1990 by the merger of Time Inc. and Warner Communications Inc.[1] Through its Warner music business it owned WEA Manufacturing, the group's record- and disc-pressing arm, until it sold that United States manufacturing operation to Cinram International in 2003.[2] Traded on the New York Stock Exchange as TWX, the company was renamed AOL Time Warner after its 2001 merger with America Online, took the Time Warner name back in 2003, spun off its music business in 2004, and was acquired by AT&T in June 2018 to become WarnerMedia.[1]
