About

Speyer & Grund is a Mainz maker of vinegar essence and acidulants, owner of the Surig brand.^[1] Adolf Gregor Speyer and his partner Grund founded it in Frankfurt in 1863 as a natural-dye trader; it took over the marketing of a Mainz vinegar essence in 1877 and moved its head office to Mainz in 2004.^[1] The GmbH & Co. KG (Mainz HRA 40427) was converted into Speyer & Grund GmbH (HRB 52961) on 21 June 2024, and its shareholder is Dayvital Management GmbH.^[2][3] The website's legal notice gives the current seat, register and VAT number.^[4]
