About Sony Music Entertainment (Hong Kong)
Sony Music Entertainment (Hong Kong) Ltd. was established on 21 December 1990 as the successor to CBS/Sony Hong Kong Ltd.[1] Besides releasing records for the Hong Kong market it ran an optical disc plant in Tuen Mun, whose discs are identified by "SME (HK)" on the hub or a mould SID code of IFPI 63**.[1]
In August 2005 its recorded music business passed to Sony BMG Music Entertainment (Hong Kong) Ltd. and the plant continued under a new name; a separate Sony Music Entertainment Hong Kong Ltd. was set up in 2009.[1] It pressed the Hong Kong edition of George Michael's Patience in 2004.[2]
