Family-owned German corporate group based in Heroldsberg near Nuremberg, whose holding company is Schwanhäußer Industrie Holding GmbH & Co. KG, a limited partnership registered at the Fürth district court under HRA 6622.[1][2] It holds LEI 529900QW8AL3Y5IZQ466.[3] The group traces its origins to the pencil maker Großberger & Kurz, founded in Nuremberg in 1855 and bought in 1865 by Gustav Adam Schwanhäußer, who renamed it Schwan Bleistiftfabrik; the name Schwan-Stabilo dates from 1976.[2][4] It moved its headquarters from Nuremberg to Heroldsberg in 1995.[2] Its divisions are writing instruments (Stabilo), cosmetics (Schwan Cosmetics) and outdoor equipment, the last including Deuter, Ortovox and Maier Sports.[4]
