Michael Wiese Productions is an American publisher of books on filmmaking and screenwriting, with its address at 12400 Ventura Blvd., #1111, Studio City, California.^[1] Michael Wiese launched it in San Francisco in 1976 to produce films; after failing to place his own The Independent Film and Videomaker's Guide with a publisher he issued it himself, and the house went on to publish other authors.^[2] It states that it has published some 200 books, several of them translated into 18 languages and used in more than 700 film courses.^[2] Books it publishes carry ISBNs under the publisher prefix 978-0-941188, among them Jeremy Vineyard's Setting Up Your Shots (ISBN 0-941188-73-6), and later ones under 978-1-932907.^[3][4]
