About

Norwegian charitable foundation at Sandbrekkevegen 91, Nesttun, registered with organisation number 938 503 583 and a foundation date of 1962-04-25, under the NACE code for grant-making trusts.^[1] It was set up by Knut Kavli, son of the founder Olav Kavli, and owns the entire Kavli group; every year since 1962 the group's profit has been distributed to research, culture and humanitarian work, more than 1.4 billion kroner in total.^[2][3] Kavli describes itself as the only Norwegian food group owned by a public-benefit foundation.^[4]
