About Kappa Publishing Group
Kappa Publishing Group, Inc. is a publishing company in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, concentrating on adult puzzle books and magazines as well as children's magazines; it was founded in 1955.[1] Keesing Media Group lists Kappa Publishing among its brands and describes it as the largest puzzle publisher in the U.S.[2]
The business descends from Official Publications, the Manhattan puzzle publisher of H. L. Herbert, which was sold to Nick Karabots, owner of the printer of its titles, and moved to Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.[1] Its brands include GAMES, Official and Blue Ribbon, and it also publishes Pro Wrestling Illustrated and Horoscope Guide.[1] It acquired Modern Publishing in January 2012.[1] Its map group, built from Universal Map, Mapsco and the Langenscheidt map division from 2007, ceased operations in early 2022.[1]
