Caroline Records is a United States record label and distributor. The Caroline name was first used in 1973 in the United Kingdom for a Virgin Records subsidiary issuing progressive rock albums; Virgin revived it in the United States in 1983 as the importer Caroline Distribution, which founded the present Caroline Records in 1986.^[1] Caroline Records, Inc. is credited on the 1997 United States edition of Ashtrayhead as both its manufacturer and its distributor.^[2] The label was later merged into Virgin Records after Thorn EMI acquired Virgin, while Caroline Distribution became part of EMI Music Distribution; Universal Music revived the brand in 2013.^[1]
