Cairo Food Industries, S.A.E. is the Egyptian company that makes Heinz ketchup and sauces; Kraft Heinz lists it among its subsidiaries.[1] It was founded in 1989 as a joint venture between Heinz and the Americana Group, and in 2009 H.J. Heinz took full ownership by buying Americana's 49 % stake for US$61.87 million.[2] Its labels read "Manufactured by Cairo Food Industries S.A.E." with a plant at Plot 36 & 37, Second Industrial Zone, 6th of October City.[3] In September 2024 that factory was expanded to 30,000 square metres with seven new production lines and a $50 million investment, to double annual output to 53,000 tons.[4]
