American family-controlled, publicly traded spirits and wine company based in Louisville, Kentucky, whose brands include Jack Daniel's, Old Forester, Woodford Reserve, Herradura and Chambord; it traces its founding to 1870 and George Garvin Brown.[1] The registrant is incorporated in Delaware with IRS employer identification number 61-0143150 and its office at 850 Dixie Highway, Louisville.[2] Its LEI is 549300873K3LXF7ARU34, registered in Delaware under number 328020.[3] It bought the Jack Daniel's distillery in 1956.[4] Its subsidiaries include Jack Daniel Distillery, Lem Motlow, Prop., Inc., Brown-Forman Beverages Europe, Ltd. and Brown-Forman Deutschland GmbH.[5]
