About TELDEC
TELDEC is a German record label launched in 1980 by TELDEC »Telefunken-Decca« Schallplatten GmbH, the company formed in 1950 from AEG's Telefunken record branch and Decca's German department; its label code is LC 3706.[1] The label belonged to TELDEC »Telefunken-Decca« Schallplatten GmbH from 1980 to 1983 and to TELDEC Schallplatten GmbH from 1983 to 1988.[1]
In 1988 Warner Communications acquired TELDEC Schallplatten GmbH, the company became TELDEC Record Service GmbH, and the labels were split: the pop roster on TELDEC moved to EastWest Records GmbH, only a few German artists stayed on TELDEC into the early 1990s, and the classical roster went to the new Teldec Classics label of TELDEC Classics International GmbH.[1] Discogs gives Warner Music Group as its parent label.[1]
