Messias

About

Messias is the wine brand of Caves Messias, the Mealhada house founded in 1926 by Messias Baptista and still run by his family.^[1][2] It covers still wines and sparkling wines from Bairrada, the Douro, Dão, Vinho Verde and the Beiras as well as a Port range.^[2] On the Port bottles the name is screen-printed straight onto the glass under the style and the age, as on Porto Messias 10 Anos.^[3] Retailers in Portugal and Spain list the wines as Messias, and the Spanish importer files them under the winery name Caves Messias.^[4][5]
