Chinese publishing imprint, founded in Shanghai in 1897 and the first modern publishing organisation in China.^[1] In 1993 the separate Commercial Press companies in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia formed a joint venture.^[1] In Hong Kong the imprint is published by The Commercial Press (Hong Kong) Limited.^[2]
