About

Aware Records is an American record label based in Evanston, Illinois, founded in 1993 by Gregg Latterman to give unsigned acts national exposure through compilation albums; its acts have included John Mayer, Train, Five for Fighting and Guster.[1] In July 1997 Aware signed an agreement with Columbia Records that gave it national marketing and distribution, renewed in 2002 and expired in July 2010, after which Aware signed with Universal Republic.[1] Discogs lists Columbia as its parent label and gives its office as 624 Davis St., Evanston.[2] Copyrights on its releases are held by Aware Records LLC.[3]
